What is the purpose of GPush?
GPush enables iPhone users to receive their Gmail instantly.
BlackBerry became very popular, in part because it offers remote users "instant" e-mail; new e-mails appear on the device as soon as they arrive, without the need for any user intervention, in what is referred to as "push email". GPush provides this functionality at a fraction of the cost.

To avoid seeing the badge counter, you will need to mark all unread messages in Gmail as read and turn off the badges notification. Directions are available here to mark unread messages as read.
When does the badge change numbers?
The badge number changes instantly after deleting or archiving a Gmail message from your inbox. The number will NOT change automatically when only marking a message as read due to the information provided to us by Google on their users account activity.

Should I be concerned about providing my password to GPush?
When we created the app, we committed first and foremost to security. We are using multiple levels of encryption including SSL, obfuscation, and cipher-based encryption. SSL ensures that your credentials can be transported securely. Your login credentials are encrypted using an encryption scheme that has never been cryptographically broken, with a different 'secret key' for each user. To test these security measures, penetration tests were ran on the server with no information accessed.
What should I do if my credentials are rejected even if they are correct?
If your credentials are not being accepted even though they're correct, try waiting for a few minutes (up to about half an hour). Sometimes GMail will have too many connections registered for your account and will refuse new ones until all old ones are closed or have timed out.
